I have an old Raspberry Pi 4GB and YouTube is in a browser is better on there than my Mac. I did wonder with the fact that they have turned off all GPU support on the new M1 chip, if there is possibly something odd going on with GPU support but it makes no sense that Final Cut is running like a dream still for big renders. ![]() So far Final Cut which is pretty intensive appears great and still uses the external GPU. Like chrome I have safari set to "prefer external GPU". Safari then recovered from not allowing any interaction. ![]() Tried a few heavier sites seems OK, then I got a spinning wheel of doom and whilst using Safari my Photos app crashed and I had not touched it for a couple of hours. ![]() Its just as bad, especially YouTube glitches. Well for fun, after reading this thread I decided to give Safari a try. ![]() Really probably the worst update for me recently because I use the Chomre browser so much it is my core experience of the new OS i I can see it is using my external GPU, however its still nasty and slow.
